Branded Event Activation for Greater Than Distribution Music Tour

When you’re launching a nationwide music tour backed by the largest music company in the world and hosted at some of the country’s most high-traffic malls, your event setup can’t be an afterthought. It needs to enhance the experience. That was the task in front of Greater Than Distribution (GTD), a music company led by industry veterans Randy Jackson and Paula Moore.

Their new initiative — Scouting for Stars @themall, a multi-city music experience in partnership with Simon Properties Group — is designed to discover and develop emerging musical talent through live performances, educational workshops, and retail collaborations.

With 20 locations on the calendar and over 150 emerging artists expected to perform, GTD needed a modular, professional, and branded setup that could be easily replicated across the country. And it needed to be delivered fast, with branding that met the high standards of both the artists and national partners involved.

TentCraft stepped in to help GTD bring their creative vision to life through a custom-branded event environment that checks every box: functionality, flexibility, and eye-catching branding.

Our team worked hand-in-hand with GTD and their partners to develop a modular setup that could adapt to different mall footprints while maintaining a consistent brand experience:

10x20 mightyTENT flat-roof tents: Used for merchandise sales, information distribution, and artist meet-and-greets. The flat-roof design gives a sleek, modern profile that fits within various indoor and outdoor spaces.

Custom-printed walls and media backdrops: These created the perfect branded backdrop for photo ops, live-streaming, and social content.

Retractable banners: Portable, flexible signage that could be easily updated and repositioned for different use cases at each stop.

This wasn’t a one-and-done order. GTD needed agility, iteration, and ongoing communication. Our team supported them through multiple design changes to accommodate evolving sponsor needs, artist requirements, and venue guidelines.

“All the love to TentCraft for their terrific customer service — being so helpful going back and forth with us on design elements any time we or our partners needed an adjustment, and getting this big (and beautiful!) order to us in time.” — Carolyn Metcalfe, Head of Marketing & Partnerships
