Powerade Fan Experience: Drink Sampling & Engaging Games at NCAA Championships
Powerade set out to connect with the next generation of athletes, knowing the key to winning them over was letting them experience the sports drink firsthand.
To reach this audience, the brand targeted fans who pack the stands at major collegiate sporting events. They activated at the College World Series (baseball and softball) and the NCAA Frozen Four Ice Hockey National Championship.
The Request
Before launching their roadshow, Powerade needed a versatile structure that could serve as the perfect hub for their fan experience. It had to work seamlessly for both indoor and outdoor events, provide space for interactive sporting challenges, offer sampling stations, create ideal photo opportunities, and, most importantly, showcase the Powerade brand.
No sweat.
The Plan
Powerade came to us with a clear vision: they wanted a custom-wrapped truss structure in their brand colors. It was the ideal solution for a semi-permanent setup, capable of handling both indoor and outdoor events.
We delivered a black truss structure with a roof drain for outdoor use, jet-black footplates for ballasting, and custom signage to welcome fans to sample and participate in challenges.
To enhance the experience, we also designed a larger, sturdier custom mightyTABLE for sampling.
The Results
The Powerade team quickly found themselves surrounded by eager event attendees.
More than a half-million total fans attended the three NCAA championship events, with Powerade reps capturing photos, hosting athlete games and challenges, and offering Powerade samples.
So, what was the result? Happy, hydrated crowds and a wave of new Powerade fans!
