USS Annapolis 5x5 MONARCHTENTS
Heavy duty MONARCHTENTS hit the deck to protect a sub at dock
The U.S. Navy had a problem with rain and surf making its way into the USS Annapolis submarine while it was in port in Guam.
We had a solution!
Now they use a pair of branded 5x5 MONARCHTENTs as a protective cover for the hatches. Full walls keep out the water, full zippers give the crew easy access when needed. That's what we call ship-shape!
The smaller size is perfect for transporting between ports — and any bigger would have caused balance issues on the submarine.
The USS Annapolis is the fourth ship in the history of the U.S. Navy to be named for Annapolis, Maryland, home of the Naval Academy. The ship launched in May 1991 and was officially commissioned in April 1992.
The ship is 360 feet long with a beam of 33 feet. It holds 16 officers and 127 enlisted sailors. And its armament includes tomahawk missiles, VLS tubes, MK48 torpedoes, and four torpedo tubes.
