Careers at TentCraft
At TentCraft, we manufacture the toughest custom-printed tents and structures for some of the world’s most recognizable brands. Magical experiences for Disney+, engaging retail setups for Soccer.com, and grand opening kits for REI don’t happen by accident, though. They’re brought to life by dedicated TentCrafters who think outside the box and genuinely care about the work they do.
We take great pride in providing quality, value, and authenticity to the words, “Made in America.”

TentCraft’s Fun & Weird Culture
We like to think Tentcraft is one of the best places to work in Traverse City, MI, because of our culture. TentCrafters are committed to excellence in their work, but they also like to have fun.
So, you might hear a Traverse City craft brew crack open on a Friday afternoon. Employee ping-pong challenges still make for the ultimate brainstorming session. And recently, we decided our in-house coffee could be better, so we put a handful of employees in charge of bringing world-class coffee to our building — and made that a top company priority!
We know how to deliver amazing custom solutions to our clients, but we also know how to have a good time.
Living in Traverse City
Know those top 10 lists ranking the best places to live? Our town is on those. A lot. Traverse City has been nationally recognized as having some of the best hiking, ice cream, beer, wine, arts and culture, yada, yada, yada…
Simply put, Traverse City is one of the most beautiful places in America and it’s an amazing town to call home. Learn more about making a move to Traverse City.
About 16,000 people live in Traverse City, but another 100,000 make up the rest of Grand Traverse County and neighboring Leelanau County. We like to think our community offers a small-town feel with plenty of big-city amenities. Here are a few things the Traverse City area is known for:
MAKE IT BETTER
These three words are more than just a fluffy mission statement. It’s our way of life. From being students and practitioners of LEAN manufacturing to our daily goal of eliminating all waste, the “Make it Better” mantra reaches far beyond just our product.
The same significance of making the best outdoor marketing solutions for our customers is matched equally for both our people and process.
TentCraft Employee Benefits
On top of a competitive salary, TentCraft offers a number of benefits that create a healthier work-life balance.
Stay Healthy
If you’re a full-time employee, you’re eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits. We also want you to lead a healthy lifestyle. That’s why we reimburse $100 per year toward a purchase — like a pair of running shoes or a gym membership — to make that healthier lifestyle a little easier.
TentCraft is proud to offer more progressive options for health insurance, including a direct primary care membership, on top of traditional HSA-qualified plans.
Take Vacation
We take vacation time very seriously, which is why everyone in production starts at 4 weeks of paid time off. On top of our PTO benefit, all TentCraft employees receive paid time for all major holidays, along with some extra days, like the day after Thanksgiving.
And if you travel somewhere cool, we HIGHLY recommend sharing those photos in the company Slack channel.
Save for the Future
TentCraft offers a Traditional and Roth 401K option. We'll match portions of your contributions and help you plan your financial future.
Prioritize Your Family
Family > Career. We love our work at TentCraft, but we recognize family time is FAR more important. That’s why we offer a parental leave policy with paid time off for moms and dads who bring a little one into the world. Once you've used your parental leave, you can gradually return to work four days per week at 100% of your regular pay for five weeks.
TentCraft was one of the first companies in the state of Michigan to launch the state's childcare cost-sharing program. Under the Tri-Share Program, childcare costs for qualified employees can be reduced by 66%.
Infants in the Workplace
Our love of family doesn’t end with PTO. We encourage our non-production employees to bring their infants into the office to keep building that bond between parent and child. Who knows, maybe that cute baby will make a sale or two!
(Note: Production employees receive additional parental leave time because we don’t think those cute newborns should be fabricating metal quite yet.)
Explore the Great Outdoors
When you live in the No. 1 lake beach town in the United States, you don’t tend to stay indoors.
TentCraft has a fleet of kayaks, stand up paddle boards, skateboards, and, yes, snowshoes for those lovely winters, that all employees can rent out. So, if you don’t want to spend money on a SUP (or have nowhere to store one), you can rent one for the weekend!
Eat, Drink & Be Merry
We gather everyone together once per month for a team lunch catered by a different Traverse City-area restaurant. (And we have some good ones!)
We've hosted our employees and their family for a company pig roast. We've set sail on Grand Traverse Bay. Kayaked the Crystal River. Biked in groups to work. After some team lunches, we settle who cleans up with a basketball game of lightning.
And then we get back to work so we can get home to our families at a reasonable time. At TentCraft, we feel like we've found that perfect balance of work, fun, and family life.
Oh, and our company softball team failed to notch a single win this past season, but we sure did have a lot of fun.
