Shane Cooper was initially taken aback when he saw how much his start-up company, Carver Surf Racks, was going to pay for a custom pop-up tent from TentCraft ahead of the 2024 Sea Otter Classic.
Up until that point, he had only experienced cheap pop-ups purchased from big box stores.
“Admittedly, I was surprised by the price, but when you see what you get with a heavy-duty, professional tent — it all made sense,” Cooper said. “We feel our brand is perfectly represented in a structure that’s going to last us a long time.”
Carver Surf Racks, which manufactures light weigh racks that allow cyclist to carry their surfboards to and from the beach, debuted its 10x10 MONARCHTENT with custom-printed backwall and peak flag at the 2024 Sea Otter Classic, one of the biggest cycling shows in the country.
The brand’s marketing director, Miri Kurtz, said she “wanted the best tent on the market” for their activation at Sea Otter and the half dozen other shows the company has planned for the rest of 2024. Quick turnaround times and a lifetime warranty on the heavy-duty frame was the ultimate selling point.
MONARCHTENT is the only pop-up tent to be 100% made in the U.S. and the only model of its kind to include certified wind ratings — making it an ideal solution for outdoor trade shows.
Carver Surf Racks is based in Fort Collins, Colorado. The brand’s lineup of racks accommodates a number of different surf board sizes and are compatible on bikes and mopeds.
